The Supreme Court refused to interfere with the Madras High Court order dismissing a plea against officials over denial of permission to light a lamp on Thiruparankundram hill while allowing Ramzan celebrations. However, it reduced costs from ₹50,000 to ₹5,000. The court upheld the rest of the High Court order, dismissing the Special Leave Petition.
