President Droupadi Murmu became the first head of state to undertake a sortie on a Kalvari-class submarine, INS Vagsheer, from Karwar Naval Base, Karnataka. She was accompanied by Navy officials. INS Vagsheer, India’s sixth Kalvari-class submarine, can carry 18 weapons. Murmu previously undertook historic sorties in Sukhoi Su-30 and Rafale jets.
