Maharashtra Congress Criticizes BJP Over Vande Mataram Celebration

The Maharashtra Congress accused the BJP of politicizing the 150th anniversary of the national song ‘Vande Mataram.’ Composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, it was first published in 1875 in ‘Bangadarshan’ and later in his novel ‘Anandamath.’ The Constituent Assembly adopted it as India’s national song on January 24, 1950.
