Hong Kong Fire: Death Toll Rises To 44

The death toll in Hong Kong’s Tai Po high-rise fire rose to 44, with about 300 residents missing as rescue operations continued. Flames engulfed 7 of 8 towers at Wang Fuk Court. Police arrested 3 men, including construction directors, for manslaughter over gross negligence, citing flammable materials and unsafe construction practices contributing to the disaster.
