A 75-year-old retired BMC official from Andheri East was duped of ₹16.50 lakh by cyber fraudsters posing as ATS and NIA officers in a fake “digital arrest” linked to a Delhi bomb blast probe. He was pressured via video calls to transfer money for verification. After being blocked, he approached cyber police, who registered a case and began investigation.
