India’s first bullet train corridor achieved a major milestone with the breakthrough of Mountain Tunnel 5 in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said. Part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad project, MT5 is the first and longest mountain tunnel. The 508-km corridor includes 8 mountain tunnels and one undersea tunnel, marking steady progress.
