SC judge BV Nagarathna highlighted that women cannot be deemed “untouchable” during part of the month and suddenly allowed later. The nine-judge constitution bench, led by Surya Kant, is hearing petitions on gender equality and religious rights, questioning long-standing restrictions at certain places of worship.
