Over 15 Lakh Revised ITRs Filed This Fiscal: CBDT

Over 15 lakh taxpayers have filed revised returns for assessment year 2025-26, the Income Tax Department said. Its NUDGE campaign flags wrongful deduction claims. Over 21 lakh updated returns yielded ₹2,500 crore in taxes. Taxpayers can revise ITRs till December 31, 2025 and changes after January 1 will require filing updated returns to avoid further scrutiny.
