A massive winter storm battered two-thirds of the US, impacting over 213 million people with heavy snow, ice and record cold. More than 14,000 flights were cancelled and over 8.5 lakh customers lost power, mainly in southern states. Nearly 20 states declared emergencies as officials warned of dangerous travel, prolonged outages and hypothermia risks.
