Environmental Activist Beaten By Aqua Farmers For Opposing Illegal Practices

Environmental activist Chikkam Veera Durga Prasad from Andhra Pradesh was beaten by aqua farmers for opposing illegal aquaculture practices in Konaseema. Prasad, who has been fighting unauthorized aqua ponds causing water pollution, faced violence despite a local court ordering the ponds’ closure. The farmers attempted to restart the ponds, defying the court’s orders.
