US President Donald Trump said he will announce his choice to succeed Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell “early next year.” Speaking at a cabinet meeting, he confirmed he has already decided on a candidate but did not reveal the name. Trump also declined to comment on speculation that National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett might be chosen.
