Government Acts Against 21 Fraudulent Universities

The govt has identified 21 “fake universities” operating across India, with 8 in Delhi, and directed state governments to take legal action. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the list in Lok Sabha, available on the UGC website. Efforts to protect students include public notices and legal measures. Additionally, the 2024-25 higher education budget saw an increase of ₹2,875.29 crore.
