Sri Lanka Arrests Former Intelligence Chief For Easter Attacks

Sri Lanka’s former SIS Chief, Major General (Retd) Suresh Sallay, was arrested in Peliyagoda over the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings that killed 279 and injured 500+. Alleged to have links with the attackers and accused of enabling the attacks to influence the presidential election, Sallay denies wrongdoing. The arrest advances the ongoing investigation.
