BJP leader K Annamalai accused the Greater Chennai Corporation of illegally extending the deadline for a ₹4,000 crore waste collection contract, alleging it favoured a particular company and risked large-scale corruption. He demanded its immediate cancellation and a full investigation. The 10-yr contract covers door-to-door collection in Tondiarpet and Anna Nagar.
