Tomato Prices Double As Rains Wreck Crops In AP & TG

Tomato prices have surged sharply in both Telugu states. A week ago, tomatoes cost ₹20-30 per kg, but rates have doubled in 15 days, now hitting ₹60-70 in wholesale and nearing Rs. 100 in retail. Traders attribute the spike to recent heavy rains that severely damaged crops, leading to reduced supply and soaring prices.
