A leader of Bangladesh’s 2024 uprising, Sharif Osman Hadi, has died in a Singapore hospital after being shot in Dhaka. He was attacked while campaigning and later flown abroad for treatment. He opposed the Awami League. Police arrested the main suspect’s parents, who gave confessions and were jailed. The shooting followed months of political unrest.
