India To Get Indigenously Designed Nuclear Attack Submarines

India is set to receive its first indigenously designed nuclear attack submarines by 2036, with approval for two submarines showcasing confidence in India’s defense manufacturing capabilities, according to Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi. The first submarine is expected by 2036, with a second within two years. The Navy plans to eventually acquire six such submarines.
