Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ crossed US $1 million in North America, with $500,000 from premieres alone. The film opened strongly in India too, driven mostly by southern states. It stars Rukmini Vasanth opposite Shetty, with Gulshan Devaiah as the villain and Jayaram in a supporting role. Kantara Chapter 1 was released in theatres on Oct 2.
