Esraa Hezain is suing EgyptAir for $5 million, claiming she suffered 2nd-degree burns after a lidless tea cup splashed on her during a flight from JFK to Cairo. The incident occurred in February, when turbulence caused the hot beverage to spill. Hezain’s attorney argues that the flight crew failed to suspend service or warn passengers, leading to her injuries. EgyptAir has not commented.
