Major bank employee and officer unions have issued a strike notice for a nationwide work stoppage tomorrow, demanding implementation of a 5-day work week. The United Forum of Bank Unions said the strike will run from midnight January 26 to 27. Unions noted the IBA has recommended the proposal, but final government and regulatory approvals remain pending.
