Major bank employee and officer unions have issued a nationwide strike notice demanding a 5-day work week. The United Forum of Bank Unions stated the work stoppage will take place today, January 27. While the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) has recommended the proposal, final approval from the government and regulatory authorities is still pending.
