South Korea’s Yoon Appoints New Defence Minister

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol accepted Defence Minister Kim Yong-hyun’s resignation and appointed Choi Byung-hyuk, ambassador to Saudi Arabia, as the new defence minister on Thursday. Yoon’s chief of staff praised Choi as a principled individual dedicated to his duties and committed to regulations.
