A two-year-old female leopard died after being hit and dragged by a speeding vehicle in Pilibhit Tiger Reserve’s Mala range. Forest staff intercepted the vehicle, but the driver fled. The injured leopard attacked a staffer before succumbing. A postmortem is underway, and authorities are pursuing the driver under the Wildlife Protection Act.
