The annual Salakatla Theppottsavam at Tirumala begins today and will continue until March 2. The sacred Srivari Pushkarini has been illuminated with vibrant electric lighting and elaborate decorations for the occasion. As festivities commence this evening, several rituals, including Sahasradeepalankara Seva, have been suspended for five days to facilitate it.
