Supreme Court Halts Trial Court Action In Sambhal Case Until High Court’s Order

Supreme Court asked the trial court in UP’s Sambhal not to proceed with the mosque survey case till the Shahi Idgah committee of Jama Masjid moves the High Court. This order comes days after violence broke out in Sambhal, which resulted in five dead, after a court-mandated survey of the mosque. Supreme Court also directed that the report of the commissioner should be kept in a sealed cover.
