Adverse weather caused by a deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal has claimed 15 lives in Sri Lanka, with over 450,000 people affected by floods, landslides, and strong winds. The majority of fatalities, 10, were reported from the Eastern Province. A cyclonic storm is moving toward Tamil Nadu, but heavy rainfall and winds are expected to continue in certain regions.
