In an unusual case, a man severed four fingers from his left hand using a sharp knife to render himself unfit for his position as a computer operator at his relative’s diamond business, according to police in Surat, Gujarat. Mayur Tarapara (32) initially claimed he lost his fingers after fainting by the roadside, but investigations revealed it was self-inflicted.
