Sri Lanka’s minister for power and energy, Kumara Jayakodi, resigned after a presidential commission was launched to probe coal imports for power generation. His resignation follows a recent no-confidence attempt and marks the first exit from the NPP government since 2024. Ministry Secretary Udayanga Hemapala also stepped down from his post.
