Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that railways will continue to provide concession to travelers. But, ticket subsidies have seen a significant reduction over the years, with latest figures indicating a decrease of almost 6%. “If the cost of a service is ₹100, we are charging only ₹54, which translates to a 47% subsidy. Currently, ₹56,993 crore is being provided as a subsidy,” he said.
