Director Anil Ravipudi said he declined “Jana Nayagan” as he was not keen on remaking “Bhagavanth Kesari.” He explained that he preferred narrating a fresh subject instead of retelling the same story in another language. Vijay reportedly insisted on the remake, and differing creative views led the project to another director. The film is yet to release.
