Swiss Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan was sentenced to 18 years in prison by a Paris court for raping three women between 2009 and 2016. The former Oxford professor, already convicted in Switzerland and facing further allegations, maintained his innocence. Absent from court due to a disputed medical claim, he is banned from entering France after his sentence.
