US Delivers First Of 99 Engines For Tejas Jets

After a two-year delay, US aerospace giant GE delivered the first of 99 F404-IN20 engines to HAL for the Tejas LCA Mk-1A jets. The delay slowed the delivery of 83 jets, a concern raised by IAF chief AP Singh. The $716M contract, signed in 2021, aims to boost India’s defense production. GE hailed it as a key step in its 40-year partnership with HAL.
