Death Penalty Not For Murders Committed Under Mental Illness

The Telangana High Court overturned the death penalty for Bhanothu Bharathi, who killed her seven-month-old daughter while suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. The court ruled she was unaware of her actions due to mental illness. Considering her danger to society, she was ordered to be admitted to Erragadda Mental Hospital.
