The Karnataka High Court stayed the ₹200 movie ticket cap under the 2025 Cinemas Amendment Rules, granting interim relief to multiplexes and producers. Petitioners, including Hombale Films, argued the limit would harm box office earnings and violate cinema owners’ rights. Justice Ravi V Hosmani noted a similar 2017 order was later withdrawn.
