Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the deaths in a stampede at TVK chief Vijay’s rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, calling it “deeply saddening,” and wished the injured a speedy recovery. The chaos, triggered by overcrowding, left 34 dead and 46 injured. AIADMK’s Edappadi K Palaniswami also expressed grief and directed assistance to victims.
