Haryana To Hand Over ITO Barrage, Delhi Plans Action

Haryana has given in-principle approval for Delhi to take over the ITO barrage to strengthen Yamuna flood management. The 1960s-built barrage faced scrutiny during the July 2023 floods when five gates jammed. Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Verma confirmed the handover, adding the city will also maintain the Munak canal’s Delhi portion.
