Kerala govt announced a historic decision on Thursday to grant 2 days of menstrual leave each month to female students in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). State General Education Minister Sivankutty made the announcement, acknowledging the physically demanding nature of many skill-training programs, in which female students have excelled, even in traditionally labor-intensive trades.
