Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces, said the country is peaceful but will not tolerate threats to its sovereignty. Addressing officers at the GHQ, Munir emphasized that Pakistan would respond swiftly and severely to any aggression against it. He received a guard of honor during the ceremony.
