Leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi reportedly disagreed with the appointment of Raj Kumar Goyal as Chief Information Commissioner. He suggested names including IAS officer Sumita Dawra, Justice S. Muralidhar, and Professor Faizan Mustafa. The meeting, held in December and also discussed the selection of eight information commissioners.
