In a shocking incident, a BMW car allegedly driven by Mihir Shah, the son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, rammed into a scooter in the Worli area of Mumbai, leading to the death of the woman riding the two-wheeler.
The accident occurred on Sunday morning, leaving the local community in a state of grief and outrage. Rajesh Shah, the registered owner of the car, has been detained by the police for questioning, along with the driver Rajrishi Bidawat, who was also present in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Accused on the Run, Police Initiate Manhunt
Mihir Shah, the accused in the case, is currently on the run, and the police are actively working to apprehend him. He has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder, rash and negligent driving, and endangering life and personal safety.
The incident bears a striking resemblance to a recent Porsche crash case in Pune, where a property builder’s teenage son crashed his car into a two-wheeler, resulting in the deaths of two people.
Shinde Promises Stern Action, Calls for Equal Application of Law
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed his deep condolences over the tragic incident and has assured that stern action will be taken against the guilty. He emphasized that the law will be applied equally to everyone, regardless of their social or political standing.
