“She Might Be Killed Elsewhere”: Kolkata Doctor’s Father Suspects Conspiracy
The father of the trainee doctor who was raped and murdered at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has raised serious concerns regarding the circumstances of his daughter's death.
The father of the trainee doctor who was raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has raised serious concerns regarding the circumstances of his daughter’s death. He suggested that she may have been killed in a different location before her body was moved to the seminar hall where it was discovered. This assertion follows allegations that renovation work near the seminar hall was initiated to eliminate crucial evidence related to the crime.
In a statement to the media, the victim’s father expressed his belief that there were significant lapses in the police investigation, prompting him to report these issues to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He stated, “We now doubt if she was murdered in the seminar hall. It might be that she was killed elsewhere.” Despite his suspicions, he maintained confidence in the CBI’s ability to conduct a thorough investigation and called for the harshest penalties for those responsible for his daughter’s death.
The 31-year-old doctor was found on August 9 in a semi-naked state with multiple injuries, leading to widespread outrage and protests among medical professionals demanding justice and improved safety measures in hospitals. The father emphasized the broader implications of the case, stating, “One of my daughters is gone, but I feel that thousands of crores of my sons and daughters are on the streets right now. There is a movement on this from Bangladesh to the entire world. We want justice”.
The investigation has intensified, with the parents providing the CBI with names of several interns and doctors they suspect may be involved in the crime. The CBI has identified at least 30 individuals as potential suspects and is prioritizing their questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
