CM Mamata Govt Planted Goons To Destroy Evidence At RG Kar MCH: Victim’s Lawyer

Days after a mob attacked Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in response to the brutal rape and murder of a trainee doctor, Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, the lawyer representing the victim’s family has made serious allegations against the state government led by Mamata Banerjee. Bhattacharya claims that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) orchestrated the vandalism by infiltrating the protest with their own supporters, referred to as “goons,” to intimidate demonstrators and eliminate evidence related to the crime.

In the aftermath of the incident, which occurred on August 15, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attributed the vandalism to opposition parties. However, reports indicate that among the 37 individuals arrested, some are believed to be affiliated with the TMC. One of the arrested, a 24-year-old gym instructor named Souvik Das, confessed to participating in the vandalism, suggesting he was caught up in the emotional turmoil of the protests.

The situation has escalated, prompting the West Bengal Governor, C.V. Ananda Bose, to convene an emergency meeting to address public concerns and gather opinions on the government’s actions in light of the ongoing protests demanding justice for the victim and accountability from the state authorities.
