Which Countries Are Behind The Overthrow Of Hasina’s Govt In Bangladesh?

There are several speculations that China and the US are behind Bangladesh PM Sahik Hasina’s resignation and departure from the country.

In this regard, the main reason for this is believed to be Hasina’s lack of good relations with the US. It is known that the elections in Bangladesh were held smoothly this year, but the US State Department accused the elections of not being transparent.

Union External Affairs Minister (EAM) Jaishankar briefed over the Bangladesh crisis at an all-party meeting at the Parliament building in Delhi on Tuesday.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, LoP Rahul Gandhi, AICC chief Kharge, and several other leaders attended the meeting. The central government has granted Hasina an interim stay after the collapse of her government in Bangladesh on Monday.

Hasina’s son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, has called on the military to stop the unelected government from assuming power. Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina is likely to stay in India until Great Britain grants her asylum.

The former PM of Bangladesh, Khaleda Zia, is all set to be released from jail shortly. Zia is the chief of the opposition party, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), and she was sentenced to 17 years in prison in a corruption case in 2018.

On Monday, President Mohammad Shahabuddin issued orders to release Zia from jail, and he said this just hours after Hasina resigned from the PM post.
