Tollywood superstar and prince Mahesh Babu turns 50 on Friday, and he was born on August 9, 1975. His full name is Ghattamaneni Mahesh Babu, and he was born to the legendary actor Krishna and Indira in Madras, Tamil Nadu.
Mahesh Babu’s family hails from Burripalem in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, and he spent his childhood in Madras under the care of his maternal grandmother Durgamma.
The actor was educated at St. Bede’s Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, and he went on to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Loyola College in Chennai.
He acted as a child artist in several movies, such as Sankharavam in 1987, Bazaar Rowdy in 1988, Mugguru Kodukulu in 1988, and Gudachari 117 in 1989. He also played a dual role in Koduku Diddina Kapuram in 1989, Bala Chandrudu in 1990, and Anna Thammudu in 1990.
He made his debut as a lead actor with Rajakumarudu in 1999, and people began referring to him with the title Prince. For his performance, he received the Nandi Award for Best Male Debut. After that, he acted in Yuvaraju, Vamsi, Murari, etc.
Mahesh Babu married his co-star actress Namrata Shirodkar in 2005 at the Marriott Hotel in Mumbai. The couple has a son, Gautam, and a daughter, Sitara.
