West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee announced ₹2 lakh ex gratia for families of rain-related victims and urged CESC to pay ₹5 lakh to families of electrocution victims in Kolkata. She assured employment for kin and blamed poor dredging for floods. Ten people died due to rainfall incidents, nine by electrocution amid waterlogging.
Following violent clashes and arson during the Ladakh statehood agitation, authorities imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of BNSS, banning gatherings of five or more people. Responding to the unrest, Omar Abdullah stated Ladakh was never promised statehood and highlighted the 2019 celebration of its Union Territory status.

Bihar Minister Ashok Choudhary has issued a legal notice to Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor, demanding an unconditional apology for corruption allegations. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi will launch his Bihar Assembly poll campaign with the “Seemanchal Nyay Yatra” from September 24–27. The yatra aims to highlight Seemanchal’s backwardness and demand justice. Starting from Kishanganj, Owaisi will hold roadshows and meetings. AIMIM plans to contest more seats than in 2020, when it won five in the region.
US Republican politician Alexander Duncan sparked outrage by calling Hindu God Hanuman “false” and claiming America is a “Christian nation.” His comments about Texas’ 90-ft Hanuman statue drew sharp criticism from the Hindu American Foundation and social media users, who accused him of anti-Hindu hate and religious intolerance.
