The Circle to Search feature was initially rolled out with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series in January 2024. Since then, it has been gradually introduced to other models within the Samsung and Pixel lines. According to recent reports from tech tipster Mishaal Rahman, this AI-driven tool is now being integrated into the Tecno V Fold 2, marking its first appearance on a non-Samsung, non-Pixel device. Rahman also suggests that this feature will soon be available on a variety of additional Android smartphones next month, breaking the previous exclusivity enjoyed by Samsung and Pixel users.
How ‘Circle to Search’ Works
The Circle to Search feature offers a seamless way for users to search for visual elements on their screens. By long-pressing the Home or Power button on a compatible device, users can activate the tool. Once activated, they can draw a circle around any visual element displayed on their screen. The tool then performs an automatic web search to provide additional information about the selected item. Besides searching, it also offers capabilities for translating and copying text.

Despite its initial limited availability, Google has been actively working on enhancing the Circle to Search feature. Recent updates have introduced a ‘crop and share’ option, which allows users to crop images and share them through third-party apps.
