Concerns Of Full-Scale War Rise In Middle East As Iran-Israel Conflict Expands
Middle East tensions have surged as Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah vowed strong retaliation for the assassination of their leaders, which they blame on Israel. This has heightened fears of a regional war.
Middle East tensions have surged as Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah vowed strong retaliation for the assassination of their leaders, which they blame on Israel. This has heightened fears of a regional war.
The recent killing of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, shortly after the Israeli assassination of Hezbollah’s military chief Fuad Shukr in Beirut, has escalated demands for revenge and intensified regional tensions.
Since October, Hezbollah has engaged in near-daily cross-border exchanges with Israeli forces, claiming to support Hamas. Recently, Hezbollah announced it had launched dozens of Katyusha rockets at the northern Israeli settlement of Beit Hillel.
Iran has indicated that it expects Hezbollah to target deeper within Israel, beyond just military sites. The US, UK, and France urged their citizens to leave Lebanon, home to the powerful Iran-backed Hezbollah, and airlines canceled flights.
Canada advised against all travel to Israel, citing the regional conflict’s impact on security. Indian nationals in Israel have been advised to stay vigilant and follow safety protocols due to rising regional tensions.
This advisory follows a similar notice from the Indian Embassy in Beirut, which has strongly recommended that Indian citizens avoid travel to Lebanon and consider leaving the country until further notice.
