The pan-Indian RRR star actor Jr. NTR paid floral tributes to former undivided Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on his 27th death anniversary today. Early in the morning, he offered floral tributes to his grandfather, senior NTR, at NTR Ghat along the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad.
Along with Jr. NTR, popular tollywood actors Nandamuri Balakrishna and Kalyan Ram were also paid tribute to the late CM NTR on his death anniversary today. Meanwhile, a large number of fans of Jr. NTR gathered on the occasion, and the security personnel had a tough task controlling the NTR’s fans and supporters.
It is known that the legendary actor Senior NTR launched the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1982 with an emotional slogan of Telugu self-respect. However, NTR’s TDP created a record of sorts by coming to power within 9 months, ending the single-party rule of Congress in undivided Andhra Pradesh.
In fact, Nandamuri Tarakarama Rao, fondly known as ‘NTR’, was an Indian veteran actor, producer, director, and editor. NTR was also a great politician who served as the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh for seven years. Finally, senior NTR passed away on January 18, 1996, just a few months after his son-in-law, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, led a revolt and became the chief minister of AP.
