Researchers at Université de Montreal have discovered a new protein complex essential for brain cell connectivity, offering potential treatments for anxiety disorders. Published in ‘The EMBO Journal’, the study links defects in this complex to excitatory synapses associated with mental illnesses like anxiety and autism. Mutant mice showed increased anxiety and social behavior impairments.
