Union Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs and Culture Meenakashi Lekhi flagged off the ‘Shri Ramayan Yatra’ tourist train from Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi on Sunday, February 4. The special train is a Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC tourist train.
During the flag-off ceremony, Meenakshi Lekhi said that the central government has begun the ‘Shree Ramayana Yatra’ for the devotees of Lord Ram. The Ramayan Yatra will last for 19 days and stop at 9 stations related to the Ramayana.
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) will operate the auspicious ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ by Deluxe AC Tourist Train to promote spiritual tourism with a singular emphasis on the life of Shri Rama. However, the state-of-the-art Deluxe AC Tourist Train with AC I and AC II classes will accommodate a total of 156 tourists.
However, the tour is designed for devotees of Lord Rama to spend time in prayer and worship. In addition to that, the tour package includes an on-site dedicated tour manager who assists passengers, and the pantry car also carries fast food like fruits, sabudana khichdi, curd, and potatoes.
